Augusta Bar Association Passes Resolution to Fund Vacant Circuit Court Judgeship

At our Bar meeting on July 21st, a Resolution was passed which urges that the currently unfunded fifth seat for a Circuit Court judge in the 25th Circuit be funded and filled. The 2013 Virginia Workload Assessment Report of the National Center for State Courts indicated an immediate need for an additional Circuit Court Judgeship in the 25th District. Since the report came out, the need has dramatically increased with the 25th district caseload nearly doubling from 2013 to 2014.

Current Bar president, Stephen Strosnider, will be renewing our efforts to lobby our local delegation to make this matter a priority in the 2016 General Assembly session.
